Christian Resources for Summer 12'

These two resources remind me again of why I am thankful for people who devote their time to sharing God's word.  Tim Keller in "The Reason for God" articulates the fundamentals of faith in six series with a group who ponders those questions along with him.  When asked about what Christians believe about homosexuality, he answers in three parts:

1)  Christians are called to love everyone, as exemplified in the Good Samaritan parable
2)  Christians are asked not to judge others as Christ took the punishment for all sin, is the Judge and we are not to throw stones as we are not free from sin ourselves
3)  When God asks us to do something in regards to money, sex, etc., He's doing it in respect to the way we are created...just like an engine runs well when the oil is changed, the way the bible instructs us to live is in accordance with the way we were made, and we were made to unite with a man and woman.

This is the second devotional I've used by Donna Miller.  As far as I know, there are two published.  Each devotional tells a story, has fill in the blank responses for scripture and has application and prayer examples.

The main reason I love her devotionals - they hit home.  I feel so many times when we pick it up that the experiences that are highlighted in the book are similar to what my daughters, ages 12 and 10 are experiencing.  Further, some of them have brought tears to my eyes and brought up stories from friendships as a child and other fun events to relive.

Both of these publications are available on Amazon.com, "The Reason for God" can also be purchased from www.str.org, which is an apologetic ministry to help spread truths of the bible across the nation and beyond.
